Weiqi, known as "go" or encirclement chess in the west,is and continues to be one of the mosty famous board games in Chinese history. It's origins date back as far as the Zuochuan, 548 BCE. It was considered one of the "four arts" of the literati scholar- along with calligraphy, qin playing and painting.
